Clinical trial underway at five US hospital sites to evaluate Sense’s novel, non-invasive brain scanner to monitor intracranial hemorrhage in acute hospital setting.

LOK Corporation, and Sense Neuro Diagnostics, today announced a commercial partnership to bring innovative brain scanners being developed by Sense to the international market pending regulatory approval.

There are three devices: one for hospitals, another for ambulance use and a third for the military.
“Traumatic brain injury is the signature wound in the military today,” said Sense Neuro Diagnostics CEO Geoff Klass.

Sense Neuro Diagnostics has big plans for advancing the detection and continuous monitoring of traumatic brain injury (TBI), thanks to a $2.43 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense. Sense was selected for the contract by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) Combat Casualty Care Research Program.

More than 400,000 military personnel have suffered at least one traumatic brain injury in the last two decades. Long-term consequences for patients may have been better if doctors could more quickly have diagnosed the situation and treated it.
